About Peninsula College

Peninsula College formerly known as ALC College is a tertiary education college with a strong reputation and a 20 year history of delivering Business and Accounting programmes. The college currently has 2 branches, one in Klang, one in Shah Alam where it delivers its own Diplomas and top up degrees from the University of Gloucestershire, UK. The college recently became part of PKT Logistics and embarked upon an ambitious plan to relocate its existing Klang College, open a college in Straits Quay, Penang, and construct a 5000 student campus in Batu Kawan. As part of the ongoing developments the college has rebranded to become Peninsula College. In addition, an agreement is being signed with Plymouth University which will allow a wider range of subjects to be offered.

Peninsula College, an education provider under PKT Group, is looking at spearheading/accelerating the effort of providing quality education to people of Penang and northern region of Malaysia.

Datuk Wira Jalilah Baba

Datuk Wira Jalilah Baba is known for crafting the Strategic vision to achieve organizational goals in promoting Malaysia as the premier investment destination. She was the former Director General and CEO of Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). Datuk was appointed as the Director General and CEO of MIDA on 15 th of June 2008 after holding various prominent roles in the Malaysian Government.

Datuk is one of the top economists in the country with expertise in handling investment related matters especially in FDI (Foreign Direct Investment), tax matters and high impact incentives packages while being a reference centre on economics and investment matters. She was appointed as PKT Group Chairman on the 5 th of September 2011.

She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from University of Malaya. She has vast experience and expertise in investment promotion, international investment, economics, finance, government procedures and regulations governing issues such as tariffs, customs, free zones, warehousing and logistics, etc. from her tenure of service of 30 years in Malaysian Investment Development Authority(“MIDA”).

Datuk Wira Jalilah is currently a Board Member of RHB Capital Berhad, Education Malaysia Global Services and a member of the International Advisory Panel of Labuan Financial Services Authority among others.

In Peninsula College, we implement self-independent learning where students practise and apply the usage of technology in their future working environment. Not only students the lecturers as well encouraging the students in Peninsula College on the importance of digital world that revolves in the education field.

As you can see, the traditional “chalk and talk” method of teaching that’s persisted for hundreds of years is now acquiring inferior results when compared with the more modern and revolutionary teaching methods that are available for use in schools today. Greater student interaction is encouraged, the boundaries of authority are being broken down, and a focus on enjoyment over grades is emphasised .As teachers, it’s necessary to be able to teach and remain engaging. It puts a greater level of responsibility on creating lesson plans that truly work. These are two modern teaching methods that are making a great impact. Spaced learning. Teachers have reported amazing results when it came to spaced learning. Spaced Learning is a learning method in which the condensed learning content is repeated three times, with two 10-minute breaks during which activities such as physical activities are performed by the. The second modern teaching method is Engagement. Under a new teaching method called “engagement” students are urged to engage with the real world, analyse everything that happens in different life spheres (not only internship but also economical, business, social spheres, etc.). Instead of conventional teaching methods, students were taken to visit local businesses where they were able to witness how the knowledge that they were learning applied to the real world.
