About BSc (Hons) In Computer Science (UK)

Our Bachelor of Computer Science degree in Malaysia is an exciting course designed to give you the knowledge, understanding, skills, and experience that are sought after by potential employers and industry experts. Awarded by the University of Gloucestershire, UK, the course’s approach to learning and teaching is based on engaging students through the provision of an intrinsically interesting, academically challenging, and coherent course experience that supports your development as a computer science professional.

You will be introduced to a range of computer science topics that will explore key concepts and techniques relating to this dynamic field of study and provide you with an understanding of software engineering skills. These include the use of systems software to manage business systems, various industry-standard programming languages, and the ability to combine existing ways of working with new ones to provide the required output.

These skills are expanded throughout your degree to support you in working confidently independently and as part of a team in complex, unfamiliar contexts. This will involve gathering and evaluating different types of information, identifying problems, developing and documenting solutions, and making effective use of technology to generate transformative solutions.

What is more, if you are progressing from our diploma, you will be exempt from the first year of this Computer Science degree in Malaysia. Industry training opportunities with our engaged partners will be provided to build your experience and resume.

Professor Dr Ian Pashby

Professor Ian Robert Pashby graduated from the University of Sheffield (UK) with a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy and then worked in research and development for Rolls-Royce (aero engines). He joined the Warwick Manufacturing Group at the University of Warwick (UK) as a lecturer, was awarded his PhD for research in the processing of materials and subsequently promoted to Senior Lecturer.

In 2000, he became Professor of Manufacturing Processes at the University of Nottingham (UK).

Professor Pashby moved to the University of Nottingham’s Malaysia Campus in 2007 to become Deputy Head. became Pro-Vice Chancellor and then CEO of the campus in 2008. Returning to the UK in 2013, he became Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Hull (UK). He moved back to Malaysia in 2017 to lead the Peninsula Higher Education Group as its Group President and in 2024 became the Advisor.
